Rob Blackie

Lib Dem Candidate for Mayor of London

Dear Neighbour,

Too many Londoners feel unsafe when they walk our city’s streets. I know why.

One night I was attacked while walking home from work. My neck was broken, and I was lucky to live.

Today, my neck is fixed with titanium, thanks to the brilliance of our NHS.

But I was lucky. Too many Londoners aren’t.

Last year a police officer told Baroness Casey's enquiry into the Metropolitan Police that detection rates for sexual offences and rape had fallen so low that ‘it may as well be legal’ in London.

This is unacceptable.

As Mayor I will get the Met focused on convicting violent offenders and rapists, instead of wasting time on stopping and searching young people for cannabis.

With your support this May, we can fix the Met.

Rob Blackie

Rob has met with local business owners and charities across the city to discuss the issues they’re facing in the cost of living crisis.

Rob recently battled cancer and is grateful to the NHS for saving his life. Rob is fighting for more support for our fantastic doctors and nurses.

The Met is in crisis, and it's lost the trust of so many. Rob will focus the Met’s priorities, fight for more police on our streets, and for our police stations to remain open.
