4pm update from Mary Harpley, GLRO on declaration times for the Mayoral and London-wide assembly elections results at City Hall

Dear candidates and agents,

Here is a further update on our expected declaration time for the Mayoral and London-wide Assembly election results at City Hall.

None of the Assembly Constituency results have been declared yet, as was also the case this time yesterday. However, we do expect the first declarations before 6pm. While very good progress is being made across all of our seven constituency counts it is still difficult to tell when the last one might conclude.

It remains our intention to proceed with the Mayoral declaration at 8.30pm tonight, followed by the London-wide Assembly Member declaration at 9.30pm.

It is still possible that we might not get all constituency counts finished in time for a declaration this evening. We will put out an absolutely final position at 6pm.

I remind you that candidates, agents and guests for the Mayoral declaration will not be able to enter City Hall before 8pm, and London-wide candidates and agents will not be able to enter before 9.15pm. Candidates and agents involved in both contests can remain in City Hall in between the declarations.

Please arrive in good time in order to get through security, and travel as lightly as possible. Face-coverings must be worn throughout the declaration although candidates will have the opportunity to remove their masks briefly at the appropriate time. We’ll explain more tonight.

Finally, I would be grateful if you could advise Lauren (020 7983 4501, 07925 126841, [email protected]) if you are aware of any Mayoral candidate who no longer plans to attend.

Mary Harpley
