Early indications show turnout in this year's London
elections is 45%. This is equivalent to approximately 2.4 million
voters.
The accurate figure will not be known until the
whole count is complete later this evening.
This is the first time more than 2 million people have
turned out to vote in the London elections.
Turnout in 2004 was 37% (1.9 million voters). This means the
number of people voting increased by 20% this year compared to
2004.
