How to use the key dates files and desktop countdown application.
Key Dates
Microsoft Outlook
Right–click to download the .VCS file to your computer.
In Microsoft Outlook, click ‘File > Import and Export’ and select ‘Import an iCalendar or vCalendar file’ from the menu. Click ‘Next’ and navigate to the file on your computer. Click ‘OK’ and the file will load, adding all key dates to your calendar.
Note, if you open the file rather than import, only one date will be added to your calendar.
iCal
Richt–click to save the file to your computer. In iCal, click ‘File > Import’ and select ‘Import an iCal file’ from the pop–up window. Navigate to the file on your computer. Click ‘OK’ and the file will load, adding all key dates to your calendar.
Desktop Countdown
The desktop countdown provides a countdown to the Mayoral and London Assembly elections as well as useful reminders of the key dates during the run up.
Install
Click the links to download the application to your computer. Double–click to launch the installer. The intstallation program will place the counter and all revevant files onto your computer, and will set it to launch and display an image at random each time you start your computer.
Uninstall
PC. Navigate to ‘C:\Program Files’ and delete the folder named ‘Election Countdown’. You should also delete the shortcut placed on your desktop (if chosen during the initinal installation).
Mac. Navigate to ‘Macintosh HD\Applications’ and delete the folder named ‘Election Countdown’. You should also delete the shortcut placed on your desktop (if chosen during the initial installation).
System Requirements
A PC with a Pentium 100 processor or faster, running Windows 98 or later with the Adobe Flash plugin version 8 or higher.
A Macintosh running OS 10.2 or later, with the Adobe Flash plugin version 8 or higher.
If you do not have Flash on your system, the application will install the plugin for you.
Requirements for playback on the end user’s computer may vary depending on the version of Flash used. Check your Adobe Flash documentation for System requirements for the Flash Player.
