AFFORDABLE LONDON.
- Free insulation for every home that needs
it.
- Cut all bus and off-peak tube fares by
20p.
- Insist all employers pay a London Living
Wage of at least £7.20 per hour.
- Change planning rules to ensure at least
60% of all new housing is affordable.
- Affordable premises for small shops and
businesses in new commercial developments.
- Oppose all airport expansion in London
and the South East.
- Rail and tube franchises back under
public control.
- Cancel the £500 million Thames Gateway
roadbuilding plans - put the money into public transport
instead.
- Solar electricity and heating on 100,000
roofs in the city by 2015.
- A 20mph city-wide speed limit on all
residential roads throughout London.
- Community policing through Safer
Neighbourhood Teams round the clock not just at certain times of
the day.
ABOUT SIÂN
Siân is 33 and lives in Kentish Town. She
studied engineering at Trinity College, Oxford, and is author of a
series of books on greener living.
She is founder of the Alliance Against Urban
4x4s campaign, and recently celebrated persuading the GLA to
abolish the congestion charge for the cleanest cars while charging
gas-guzzlers more.
Siân is a school governor and a Patron of the
Fair Pay Network, which works to abolish poverty wages.
